SON FINDS MOTHER DEAD IN YARD
IN SUB-ZERO COLDMrs. Helen K. Lubben, who lived at 300 Ninth Ave. SW, was found dead in the yard at her home before 7 a.m. Friday.
A son, Marlin, who lives at home, called authorities after finding her body. The Luken-Johnson ambulance was called.
Dr. H. L. Vander Stoep, who was called in the absence of Dr. Sherman Lindell, medical examiner, said death was due to exposure and freezing.
He said indications are that she had fallen in the late evening around 10 p.m. There was no evidence of injury from the fall, he said.
Helen Harms was born Dec. 9, 1914, in Grant township, the daughter of Jurgen and Katherine Berg Harms, Struble, who survive her.
Her marriage to Phillip Lubben took place March 9, 1940, at Struble. She was a lifelong resident of Plymouth county.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the Luken-Johnson Funeral Home with Rev. Lowell Boettcher officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors are her husband Phillip, LeMars; two sons, Marlin of LeMars and Kenneth, Sioux City; two daughters, Mrs. Joan Miller, Woodworth, Iowa, and Mrs. LeRoy (Joyce) Cuhlman, Pasadena, Tex., and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jurgen Harms, Struble.
Also surviving are three brothers, Marvin, Melvin and Elmer Harms, all of LeMars and five sisters, Mrs. Warner (Theresa) Fruhling, Raymond, Minn.; Mrs. Floyd (Angeline) Marten, Rushmore, Minn.; Mrs. Phil (Dorothy) Osler, Sioux City; Mrs. Robert (Sylvia) Rohlfes,
