VERNON MOREHEAD

Vernon Morehead, 85, LeMars, Plymouth County native and lifelong resident, died Oct. 23, 1986, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center after an extended illness.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars. Rev. Robert Davis will officiate and burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery, LeMars.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The family will be present from 7-8:30 p.m.

He was born Aug. 16, 1901, at Akron to Wilbur and Ellen Fletcher Morehead and was a retired farmer. He married Winifred Hoffman April 26, 1926, at Adaville.

Survivors are his wife, Winifred of LeMars; a son, Arvel Morehead, LeMars, and a daughter, Mrs. Arlene Van Voorst, LeMars; nine grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd Morehead, Akron; three sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Gertrude) Brown of Merrill; Mrs. Ivy Jennings and Mrs. Sanford (Marie) Hinzman, both of LeMars. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dwight; a daughter, LaVonne, and a brother and three sisters.
