WILLIAM R. MOIR

William R. Moir, 94, of Maurice, died Sunday (Aug. 1, 1982) in a care center in Sioux City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Mauer funeral home in LeMars. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Mr. Moir was born Oct. 9, 1887, in Sioux County to George and Mary Tucker Moir. He farmed in the Maurice area and had lived at the care center the last five years.

He married Nellie Wynia May 5, 1920, at Ocheyedan. She died in 1969. [correction:Nellie died 26 Aug 1967]

He was a member of World War I and was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors are one son, Don, of Merrill; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Elsie) Brown of Salix; one brother, Glenn of LeMars; one sister, Mrs. Lloyd (Ethel) Laughton of LeMars; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

He was a member of the Methodist church.

Mr. Moir was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
