FRED O. MENTZER

Fred O. Mentzer, 95, of Colorado Springs, Colo., died Nov. 18, 1995.

The son of David and Clara Mentzer was born in Bloseville, Pa., on Dec. 13, 1899. The family moved to Iowa where he grew up. He spent many years farming in the Struble area before moving to Colorado. In Colorado he owned a business in Cripple Creek, Colo., and Manitou Springs before retiring.

On Feb. 22, 1955, he married Patricia Snyker at the Little Brown Church in Nashua.

Survivors include his wife; three sisters, Carla (Goldie) Jumper of Newville, Pa., Ida Nicholson of Omaha, Neb., and Amy Becker of LeMars; a brother, Robert of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Melvin, Oscar, Ira and Arnold; and a foster sister, Shirley.

A memorial service was held at the Swans Funeral Home in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Nov. 22, 1995. Services in LeMars will be at a later date.
