DOROTHY LUSCHEN
Mrs. John (Dorothy) Luschen, Sr., 96, LeMars, longtime Plymouth County resident, died Thursday (Oct. 13, 1988) at Floyd Valley Hospital after a brief illness.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. John’s American Lutheran Church with Rev. David Kramer officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, rural LeMars, under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday with the family present at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The former Dorothy Weber, she was born March 13, 1892, at Springfield, Ill., to Henry and Tena Eilers Weber. She came to Plymouth County as a young girl and lived here since.
Her marriage to Gerd Pecks took place in 1910 at rural LeMars.
She was a member of St. John's church.
On Jan. 2, 1951, she married John Luschen, Sr., at Sioux Falls. He preceded her in death.
Survivors are a son, Herman Pecks, LeMars; two daughters, Evelyn Pecks, LeMars, and Mrs. Roy (Eva) Plueger, Brookings, S.D.; two sisters, Mrs. Will (Fannie) Plueger and Mrs. Fred (Minnie) Plueger, both of LeMars; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, a great-granddaughter; six brothers and a sister.
