JOHN LUSCHEN, SR.
John Luschen, Sr., 89, LeMars, died Thursday (Feb. 23, 1984) at Floyd Valley Hospital, LeMars, after a long illness. He lived at Brentwood Care Center the last five years.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John's American Lutheran Church, LeMars. Rev. Tom Lee officiated. Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.
Mr. Luschen was born Oct. 29, 1894, at Pipestone, Minn., to Gerritt and Elizabeth Juhls Luschen. He was a farmer and later was employed at the Sioux City Stockyards.
Survivors are his wife, the former Dorothy Weber; a son John Jr. of LeMars; three daughters, Mrs. Ray (Mildred) Plueger of LeMars, Mrs. LeRoy (Cleone) Anderson of Sioux City and Mrs. Edwin (Winifred) TeNapel of Ireton; 23 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a half-brother.
