WILLIAM H. LUDWIGS
William H. Ludwigs, 71, Route 3, LeMars, lifelong Plymouth County resident, was dead on arrival Tuesday (Jan. 1, 1985) at Floyd Valley Hospital, LeMars.
LeMars ambulance was called to the farm a mile north and 1 ½ miles west of Brunsville at 10 a.m. Mr. Ludwigs had collapsed in a cattle yard while doing chores. He died of an apparent heart attack, according to Dr. Daryl Doorenbos, Plymouth County medical examiner.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township, rural LeMars. Rev. Jack Hebard will officiate and Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, rural LeMars, under the direction of the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.
He was born May 11, 1913, in Grant Township, to Henry A. and Engel Kleihauer Ludwigs. He married Rosella Nussbaum, Aug. 19, 1946, in Remsen. The couple had since farmed. He retired in 1978. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife, Rosella, LeMars; a daughter, Nancy Vaughn, Kansas City, Kan.; a son, Bruce Ludwigs, LeMars; two grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Ludwigs, LeMars, and Elmer Ludwigs, Brunsville; three sisters, Mrs. Herman (Elizabeth) Haage, Brunsville, Mary Ruble and Mrs. Leonard (Ella) Molzen, both of LeMars. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
