TED LOVE
Ted Love, 84, longtime LeMars resident, died Wednesday night at Floyd Valley Hospital. He had been a patient there since June.
He was born Oct. 12, 1883, in LeMars, the son of the late James and Mary (Boles) Love.
His marriage to Clara L. Schafer took place Nov. 18, 1908, in LeMars. She preceded in death on Dec. 9, 1964.
Mr. Love retired Oct. 1, 1964, as LeMars mail subscription salesman for the Sioux City Journal after 62 years of service.
He started his career at the age of 19 and spent most of the 62 years in a territory comprised of LeMars, Remsen, Merrill, Hinton, Oyens, and Brunsville.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Mauer funeral home. Rev. James Ransom will officiate and burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Survivors are a brother, Perry B. Love of Auburn, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Hazel L. Petry, Burbank, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Love was long active in the LeMars Eagles Club.
