Walter O. Ladenthin, 74, LeMars, a lifelong Plymouth Country resident, died Sunday (July 2, 1989) at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars after a brief illness.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church in LeMars with Rev. Jerry Hahn officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Ladenthin was born Oct. 5, 1914, in Plymouth County to Jacob and Louise Krause Ladenthin. He married Kathaleen Willer Nov. 28, 1942, in LeMars. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

He was retired.

Survivors are his wife, Kathaleen, LeMars; two daughters, Mrs. Jerome (Eileen) Dreckman and Mrs. David (Sandra) Reuter, both of LeMars; two sons, Darvin of Otsego, Mich., and David of LeMars; two brothers, Harold of Marcus and Lawrence of Kingsley; two sisters, Edna Ladenthin and Mrs. Ella Gotto, both of LeMars; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, William and Herbert.
