KATHALEEN (KAY) LADENTHIN

Kathaleen (Kay) Ladenthin, 66, of LeMars, died Monday, June 22, 1992, at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center, Sioux City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church, LeMars, with Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars. Visitation is after 2 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mrs. Ladenthin was born Aug. 19, 1925, at Akron to Frank and Nora (Scanlan) Willer. She married Walter Otto Ladenthin on Nov. 28, 1942, in LeMars. He died on July 2, 1989. Mrs. Ladenthin was retired and had worked at Hammer’s Restaurant for many years, Dubuque Packing and Plymouth Manor Care Center in LeMars. She was a lifelong Plymouth County resident except for a short time when she lived in Nebraska. She had lived in the Kingsley area before moving to LeMars in 1960. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in LeMars.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Eileen and Jerome Dreckman and Sandra and David Reuter, all of LeMars; two sons, Darvin Ladenthin and special friend, Mary Singer, of Otsego, Mich., and David Ladenthin and wife, Belinda, of LeMars; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, her twin Catherine in infancy, Marguerite Wells, Leona Pitts and Lavina Klave, and a brother, Francis (Buck) Willer.
