G. KRULL

Gerhard F. Krull, a retired LeMars businessman, whose home was at 115 Third Ave. SE., died Tuesday (Feb. 11, 1975) at St. Joseph hospital, Sioux City, after a brief illness. He was hospitalized a week.

Mr. Krull had lived in LeMars for a half century. He operated Krull Furniture and Appliance located on the alley next to the Footstep shoe store. The building was torn down and now a parking lot.

Mr. Krull was born June 15, 1890, in Marx, Germany, a son of Johann Hinrich and Etta Maria Ufken Krull.

He came to the United States and to Hawarden in 1912. He returned to Germany in 1919, living there until 1925 when he returned to the United States and to Sioux City. He moved to LeMars in 1926.

His marriage to Gretchen E. Braams took place Nov. 7, 1911, in N. Bremen, Germany.

Mr. Krull was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, LeMars.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. James Rassbach officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars, under the direction of the Mauer funeral home in LeMars.

A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Casketbearers will be Dr. Arthur Krull, Martin Krull, Benson Krull, Heinz G. Wilms, Mark Wilms, Paul Wilms, Stanley Navrude, Dan Topp, Peter Bonthuis, Gene Curtis and Pat Krull.

Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Heinz (Wilma Hertha) Wilms, LeMars; three sons, Arthur G. Krull, Sioux City; Ben E. Krull, Kansas City; and Gerald E. Krull, Omaha; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and a brother, Wilhelm Krull living in Germany.

He was preceded in death by his wife in 1961; by two brothers, Hinrich Jansen Krull and Johann Wilms Krull and by two sisters, Katherina Magret and Antje Johanne.
