CLARA E. KRIENERT
LE MARS, Iowa --- Clara Elizabeth Krienert, 71, of LeMars, died Saturday, Nov. 11, 2000, in LeMars.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Brunsville, Iowa, with the Rev. Peter Boe officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Mrs. Krienert was born March 4, 1929, in Washington Township, rural Plymouth County, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Anka (Kruse) Jelken Sr. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
She married Vincent Krienert on Jan. 14, 1949, in Preston Township. The couple farmed in Washington Township.
She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and was active in Women Evangelical Lutheran Church Association. She enjoyed cooking and baking.
Survivors include her husband of Brunsville; four daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Norman Dather of Melvin, Iowa, Joan and John Niewohner of Lyons, Neb., Margaret and Martin Stizmann of Great Falls, Mont., and Arleen and Alan Markowski of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; six sons, Kenneth of Brunsville, Edwin and his wife, Gerry Sue, of LeMars, Stanley of Sioux City, Philip and his wife, Robyn, of LeMars, Roger and his wife, Deborah of LeMars, and Lyle and his wife, Alice of LeMars; 34 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Florence Jennings, of Minneapolis, Amanda Westhoff of LeMars, Lillian Ludwigs of LeMars, Leona Pierce of Willmar, Minn., and Mary Ann and her husband, Ray Meyers of Annandale, Minn.; two brothers, Harold Jelken of Brunsville and Dick Jelken and his wife, Darla, of Sloan, Iowa; and two sisters-in-law, Juanita Jelken of Brunsville, and Shirley Jelken of LeMars.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Kristina Krienert; two brothers, Alvin and Henry Jelken Jr.; and a sister, Irene Hanson.
Pallbearers will be her sons, Kenneth, Edwin, Stanley, Philip, Roger and Lyle.
