DARRELL E. KRAUSE

LE MARS, Iowa --- Darrell E. Krause, 71, of LeMars, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000, at his residence following a brief illness.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Cornerstone Faith Center in Sioux City, with the Rev. Larry Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.

Mr. Krause was born July 16, 1929, in Sioux City, the son of Clarence and Gertie (Kounkel) Krause.

He married Phyllis J. Holt on Nov. 12, 1949, in Hinton, Iowa. He was a dairy farmer most of his life. Upon retiring from farming in 1982, he was employed as a meat inspector with John Morrell in Sioux City. He was later employed on the line at Sioux Supreme in Sioux Center, Iowa. He was also employed as a custodian at Medical Associates Clinic in LeMars. He was most recently employed with the City of LeMars Parks Department.

He was a member of Cornerstone Faith Center and enjoyed walking, fishing and gardening.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Arlen of LeMars, Keith of Oyens, Iowa, Curtis of LeMars and Wendell and his wife, Lori, of LeMars; a daughter and her husband, Sue and Tom Linstrand of LeMars; a brother and his wife, Dwain “Babe” and Darlene of Hinton, Iowa; and five grandchildren, Christopher, Rebecca, Sarah, Derek and Ashely Krause.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald.

Pallbearers will be Steve Fisher, Jim Carlin, Gene Rykhus, Dave Sanford, Keith Beardshear, Scott Pinkelman and Terry Connor.
