CLARENCE J. KLUVER
Clarence J. Kluver, 71, of Ireton, died Tuesday, June 3, 1997, at the Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in LeMars.
Clarence John Kluver was born Oct. 5, 1925, on the family farm near Akron, the son of Hans and Tillie (Schmidt) Kluver. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Akron. On Feb. 16, 1950, he married Mildred Reichel at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township. The couple farmed in the Craig area all of their married life.
Mr. Kluver served his country with the Military Police in the United States Army stationed in Korea.
He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Grant Township.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Larry Kluver of Ireton and Arlan Kluver and his wife, Christine, of LeMars; three grandchildren, Jessica, Scott and Curtis of LeMars; a brother, Lowell Kluver of Lake Park; a sister, Leona Bergmark of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mildred Boetger.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township, rural LeMars, with the Rev. David Kramer of St. John's Lutheran Church ELCA, officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, rural LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
Pallbearers will be Lorvan Hawkins, Colin Collmann, Lowell Schulz, Glen Haage, Donald Bohlken, and David Moeller.
