REMSEN, Iowa -- Delmar Fromme, 91, of Remsen died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Happy Siesta Health Care Center in Remsen.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Remsen, with the Rev. Craig Miller officiating. Burial will be in Remsen City Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Wednesday, with a prayer service at 8 p.m., at Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen. Visitation will resume 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.
Delmar was born July 25, 1912, in rural Remsen, the son of William and Tjodie (Grothaus) Fromme. He was raised and educated in the Remsen area. He attended both rural school and Remsen Public School, graduating in 1930. After graduation, he began farming with his father.
On Nov. 27, 1937, he married Faye Jean Richardson in Kingsley, Iowa. The couple continued farming on the family farm until 1980, when he retired. In 1989 the couple moved into Remsen. He had been a resident of Happy Siesta Health Care Center since Feb. 23, 2004.
He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Faye Jean of Remsen; a daughter, Joan Quinn of Remsen; a son and his wife, Lynn and Dianne of Remsen; a grandson, Dale Quinn of Santa Maria, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Lois in infancy.
