LE MARS, Iowa --- Ione M. Reese, 92, of LeMars, formerly of Brunsville, Iowa, died Monday, Aug. 28, 2000, at Plymouth Manor Care Center in LeMars.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church in LeMars, with the Rev. Richard Ries officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a parish rosary at 4 p.m. and a Scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m. at Feuerstein Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mrs. Reese was born Nov. 18, 1907, near Brunsville, the daughter of John and Emma (Montagne) Luken.

She married John “Jack” Reese April 8, 1928, in LeMars. She taught school in many rural schools in the area. She taught at Gehlen Catholic School for more than 25 years, where she also served as librarian in her later years. Her husband died in July 1979.

She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and Four Seasons Garden Club in Brunsville.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Addie Luken, of LeMars; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Darrell Luken.
