MRS. LORETTA RUSSELL
LE MARS, Iowa --- Mrs. Loretta Russell, 76, of Phoenix, Ariz., and former resident in the Merrill and Akron communities, died Tuesday in a rest home in Phoenix after a long illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. James Catholic Church in LeMars. The Rev. George McFadden will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The parish will recite the rosary at 7 p.m. today in the Luedtke-Feuerstein Funeral Home.
Mrs. Russell, the former Loretta Blankenburg, was born Oct. 12, 1907, in Merrill. She married John Russell in 1925 in Merrill. They later moved to a farm near Akron. She taught school in Fort Dodge for several years.
Survivors include two daughters, Jackie Lisko of Omaha and Peg Schindel of Grand Canyon, Ariz.; a son, Bill Russell, of New York City; a brother, Bill Blankenburg of Benson, Ariz.; 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
