EMIL JOHNSON
Emil Johnson, 72, of LeMars, died Friday (March 14, 1980) at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center after a lengthy illness.
Services were at 2 p.m. Monday in St. John's American Lutheran Church in LeMars. Rev. Tom Lee officiated. Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
There was a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Luken-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars. Rev. Ken Lundeen officiated.
Mr. Johnson was born Dec. 7, 1907, to Julius and Margretha Loursen Johnson at Moorhead and graduated from high school at Pisgah. He attended carpentry school at Ellendale and Wahpeton, N.D., and was a carpenter by trade.
He married Gudrun Jordahl Dec. 31, 1935, at Moorhead. He also farmed in Plymouth county until 1972 when he retired and moved into LeMars.
He was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church.
Survivors are his wife, Gudrun; two sons, Garth of LeMars and Dennis of Idaho Springs, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Kay Parker of Palatine, Ill. And Viki of Chicago; one brother, Orlo of Castana; one sister, Mrs. Lucille Jordahl of LeMars; five stepbrothers, Bernhard Jordahl of Sioux City, Kenmar of LeMars, Randolph of North Hollywood, Calif., Julius of Broomfield, Colo., and Norman of Albuquerque, N.M.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father.
