ELMER H. JAHN
ALCESTER, S.D. --- Elmer H. Jahn, 76, of Alcester, S.D., died Wednesday, June 4, 1997, at Marian Health Center in Sioux City, following a brief illness.
Mr. Jahn was born July 15, 1920, in Schenectady, N.Y., the son of William and Emma (Behrens) Jahn. He attended the Lincoln Township school in Hinton during his youth. On Aug. 1, 1950, he married Lois Rosenbaum at Calvary Lutheran Church in Sioux City.
He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed fishing when he was not farming.
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church at Alcester.
Survivors include his wife; one son and his wife, Danny and Beverly Jahn of Armour, S.D.; three daughters, Barbara and her husband, Dwight Baisden, of Vermillion, S.D., Nancy Jahn at home in Alcester, and Joyce and her husband, Joel Oberg, of Akron; six granddaughters, Farrah and Janelle Baisden, Kelley Irwin, Jennifer Oberg, Amber and Sarah Jahn; two grandsons, Andy Jahn and Darell Oberg; one sister, Helen Collany of Kezar Falls, Maine; three brothers, Raymond Jahn of Eudora, Kans., Paul Jahn of LaMonte, Mo., and Art Jahn, of Waverly; and one sister-in-law, Elsie Jahn of Aurelia.
