RICHARD JAHDE
MAURICE --- Richard Jahde, 53, or rural Maurice, died Monday, April 18, 1994, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital of injuries suffered in a fall from a semi-tanker truck.
Mr. Jahde was born April 11, 1941, at Iowa City, the son of Herman and Frances (Waterbury) Jahde. He graduated from LeMars Community High School in 1959 and attended an auto mechanic school at Kansas City, Mo. He married Elaine Kruizenga on Dec. 4, 1963, at Maurice. The coupled lived in LeMars until 1967, when they moved north of Maurice. He was a scrap iron dealer and truck driver for Supersweet Feeds of LeMars. He collected coins and antique cars.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Suzanne Jahde of Maurice and her special friend, Dennis Schmidt; a sister and her husband, Sharon and Charles Rokes of Washburn; a nephew and a niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Ireton, with Rev. H. Schauland officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery, LeMars. Visitation is today (Wednesday) with the family present from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Porter-Dow Funeral Home, Ireton.
