LOIS JAHN
BERESFORD, S.D. --- Lois “Babe” Jahn, 71, of Beresford died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at her residence.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Peace Lutheran Church in Alcester, S.D., with the Rev. Richard Luttmann officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery, rural LeMars, Iowa. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 8 p.m., at Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron, Iowa.
Mrs. Jahn was born June 9, 1929, in Westfield, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Minnie (Jans) Rosenbaum.
She married Elmer Jahn on Aug. 1, 1950, in Sioux City. The couple farmed in the Akron and Alcester area. Her husband died June 4, 1997.
She enjoyed gardening and sports.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Danny and Beverly of Armour, S.D.; three daughters, Barbara and her husband, Dwight Baisden, of Vermillion, S.D., Nancy Jahn of Beresford and Joyce and her husband, Joel Oberg of Akron; eight grandchildren, Farrah and Janelle Baisden, Amber, Sarah, and Andy Jahn, Kelly Irwin and Jennifer and Darrell Oberg; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Joyce Bertrand and Eleanor; and a brother-in-law, Chris Jensen.
Pallbearers will be Terry Kjose, Craig Wilker, Tim Wilken, Curt Winquist, Chuck Vreugenhul and Tim Winquest.
