Francis E. Hickey
Francis E. Hickey, 79, longtime LeMars resident and musician, died Saturday (Feb. 9, 1991) at Sioux City St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center.
Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church with Rev. Larry Fett officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
He was born June 1, 1911, in LeMars to James J. and Alice J. Burns Hickey. He was a retired farmer. He married Viola Weddingfeld Aug. 14, 1933, in Norfolk, Neb. She died in 197x. He married Cleo Betsworth May 7, 1979, in LeMars. She died in 1988.
Mr. Hickey currently was living on the farm that the Hickey family homesteaded. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church since 1958.
Survivors are his daughters, Jeannette Reekers and her husband Merle, Sheldon; Arlene Lang and her husband, Duane, of Sacramento, Calif.; and Patricia Raynor and her husband, Ronald, of Dakota City, Neb.; eight grandchildren; a step-grandson and seven great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Emmett Hickey and son-in-law, Dennis Kennedy.
