BEN H. HERBST

Ben H. Herbst, 70. Merrill, died Wednesday (July 20, 1983) at the University Hospitals, Iowa City, following a brief illness.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars, with Rev. Tom Lee officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars.

Mr. Herbst was born June 25, 1913, in rural Merrill, the son of Guss and Katherine Arbuck Herbst. He married Dorothy Harvey Oct. 19, 1960, at South Sioux City and farmed in rural Merrill.

Survivors are his wife; three sons, Steven and Michael of Merrill, Brian of LeMars; two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Susan) Rohr, Fenton, Mo.; Mrs. Russ (Jean) Gerke, Des Moines; two brothers, Ardie and Odie of Merrill; a sister, Mrs. Wayne (Dorothy) Brown, Brunsville, and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Arlo.
