LOUIS J. HEEREN

Louis J. Heeren, 82, Plymouth County native and longtime LeMars area farmer, died Tuesday (March 19, 1991) at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in LeMars, after an extended illness.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John's American Lutheran Church in LeMars with Rev. David Kramer officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Thursday with the family present from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mr. Heeren was born Nov. 20, 1908, in Johnson Township, Plymouth County to John F. and Edith Harms Heeren. He was a lifelong Plymouth County resident, and a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church in LeMars.

The former Alice L. Borchers and Mr. Heeren were married Dec. 25, 1937, in Preston Township, Plymouth County. The couple farmed until retirement and moved into LeMars in 1964.

Survivors are his wife, Alice L. Heeren, of LeMars; a son, Melvin Heeren and his wife, Donna, LeMars; three granddaughters, Susan Scalf and her husband, Tom, of Davenport, Julie Heeren and Stephanie Heeren, both of LeMars; a brother, Herman Heeren and his wife, Loris, of LeMars and a sister, Louise Rann, of LeMars.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
