ALICE HEEREN
LE MARS, Iowa --- Alice Louise Heeren, 77, of LeMars,, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 1995, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in LeMars.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, ELCA, with the Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home, LeMars.
Mrs. Heeren was born May 25, 1918, in Preston Township, rural Plymouth County, the daughter of August and Frieda (Martfeld) Borchers. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Preston Township. She attended school at Preston No. 6. She married Louis H. Heeren Dec. 25, 1937, at the Borchers home in Preston Township. The couple farmed many years in Johnston Township. They moved to LeMars in 1964. He died in March 1991.
Mrs. Heeren was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church ELCA.
Survivors include a son, Melvin and his wife, Donna, of LeMars; two brothers, Fred and his wife, Regina of LeMars, and Raymond and his wife, Joan, of Carrollton, Md.; and three grandchildren, Susan Scalf, Julie Roberts and Stephanie Heeren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Edwin, August and George in infancy, and a sister, Clara Heeren.
