SAMANTHA HAWKINS

LE MARS, Iowa --- Samantha “Sam” Hawkins, 9, of LeMars, died suddenly Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s American Lutheran Church, ELCA, in LeMars, with the Revs. Gary P. Landsness and Tom Shinkel officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Feuerstein Funeral Home in LeMars.

Sam was born Sept. 6, 1991, in LeMars, the daughter of Curt and Shannon (Thieman) Hawkins. She was raised in LeMars and was a third grade student a Kluckhohn Elementary School in LeMars.

Survivors include her parents; her stepfather, Monte Jose of LeMars; three brothers and sisters, Amanda, Dylan and Montanna, all at home; maternal grandparents, Michelle Case and her friend, Bill Plendl, of Sioux City, and Wayne and Marlys Thieman of LeMars; paternal grandparents, Dave and Judy Hawkins of Orange City, Iowa; paternal stepgrandmother, Charlotte Jost of LeMars; several great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Myles Stanfield; and paternal step-grandfather, Roland Jost.

Pallbearers will be Kaden Thieman, Dan Morton, Todd Westra, and Mike Evans.
