EUGENE H. HARRISON

Eugene H. Harrison, 70, longtime LeMars resident, died Friday, Jan. 17 (1969), at Floyd Valley Hospital after a brief illness.

He was born Nov. 3, 1898, at Salix and farmed several years near Merrill and in the Hinton area. He lived in California from 1952 to 1964. He worked as a shipping clerk and also a sheet metal worker and Iowa highway commission employee.

His marriage to Amelia Petersen took place Feb. 15, 1922, at Sioux City. His parents were the late Alexander and Freda Amsler Harrison.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday at St. John American Lutheran Church in LeMars. Rev. Arnold Imbrock and Rev. Paul Tobiason officiated and burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens near LeMars. A prayer service was held at the Mauer funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Survivors are three sons, Leonard and Merlin, both of LeMars, and Robert of Fort Dodge; three daughters, Mrs. Bud (Wilma) Masuen and Mrs. Eugene (Janet) Lauters, both of LeMars, and Mrs. Robert (Karen) Kinsley, Anaheim, Calif.; 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; a brother, Cyrus, Omaha, and two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Mook, Sioux City, and Mrs. Elsie Lemke, Los Angeles.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, two brothers and a grandson.

Mr. Harrison was a member of St. John American Lutheran Church.
