S. J. (BABE) HARMS

WAUKEE --- S. J. (Babe) Harms, 54, of Waukee, died Sunday, July 18, 1993, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, of complications from cancer.

She is a sister of Melvin Harms and Mrs. Adolf (Regina) Oltmans, both of LeMars.

Ms. Harms was born Oct. 3, 1938, at Struble to Jurgen and Katherine (Miller) Harms. AT the time of her death, she was working as an administrative assistant for James O’Malley-Boyt Advertising Agency. She had lived the last 13 years at West Des Moines after residing at Panora and Perry.

She was a member of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod.

Survivors include her fiancé, Allyn Sherer of Waukee; two sons, Steven Rolfes, of Nobelsville, Ind., and Robert Rolfes of Cedar Rapids; a daughter, Cindy Rolfes of Marshalltown; two brothers, Melvin Harms of LeMars and Elmer Harms of Sioux City; four sisters, Mrs. Warner (Theresa) Fruhling of Wilmer, Minn., Mrs. Adolf (Regina) Oltmans of LeMars, Mrs. Floyd (Ann) Martens of Rushmore, Minn., and Mrs. Howard (Dorothy) Foxhoven of Sioux City; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Dunn’s Funeral Home, Des Moines. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Cemetery, LeMars. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight (Tuesday) at the funeral home with the family present.
