ERVIN A. HANSEN

REMSEN, Iowa --- Ervin A. Hansen, 82, of Remsen died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 1996, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Christ Lutheran Church in Remsen with the Rev. Craig Miller officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, in LeMars. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Friday at Christ Lutheran Church, with the family present 7 to 9 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Moeller Funeral Home of Remsen is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Hansen was born Aug. 30, 1913, in Moville, the son of Fred and Mary (Ohlerking) Hansen. He married Frances Wenrich Sept. 9, 1934, at Elk Point, S.D. They farmed in Plymouth County for many years. They retired in 1975 and moved to Remsen. He enjoyed fishing and baseball.

Mr. Hansen was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Remsen.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Larry L. and Kay of Remsen and Donald R. and Marianne of LeMars; two daughters and their husbands, Darlene Albers and Jerry of Onawa and Debbie Harte and Leon of Greeley, Colo; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joan Ricci and Myrna Sjoblom, both of Petaluma, Calif, and Eileen Lacher of Woodburn, Ore.; and two brothers, Clark and Glenn, both of Santa Rosa, Calif.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Fred and two sisters, Mary Lou Wilson and Ima Gene Pounds.
