Lulu M. Hanke, 84, of LeMars, died Thursday (June 4, 1987) at Floyd Valley Hospital, LeMars, after a brief illness.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Calvary United Methodist Church, LeMars. Rev. Kenneth Royar will officiate.

Burial will be at the Resthaven Cemetery in LeMars under the direction of Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home, of LeMars. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Thursday. The family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m.

Mrs. Hanke, the former Lulu Lowell, was born Nov. 18, 1902, at Ashland, Neb., to Eugene and Ida Lowell. She married Albert Hanke Sept. 5, 1921, at Ashland. The couple lived in the Merrill area and LeMars since 1961.

Survivors are her husband; two sons, Dale Hanke of LeMars and Donald Hanke of Merrill; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Dorothy) Johnson of Northridge, Calif.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Arvella Chamberlain of Culver City, Calif., and Margie Mowinkle of Lincoln, Neb.

Mrs. Hanke was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
