OREL BANKS
AKRON, Iowa --- Orel “Chuck” Banks, 87, of Akron died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 1994, at his home after a long illness.
Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Akron with Monsignor Gerald Lyon officiating. Burial will be in the Ellendale Cemetery, rural Merrill. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with a Scriptural prayer service at 7 p.m., at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.
Mr. Banks was born Jan. 10, 1907, near Westfield, the son of Joseph and Florence (Ross) Banks. He married Nona DeRocher Aug. 6, 1934, in Sioux City. She died in March 1986. A lifelong area farmer, he retired in 1970.
Mr. Banks was a former board member of the Plymouth County Rural Electrification Association.
Survivors include a son, Joe, and his wife, Caryl Banks of Akron; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four brothers……..[the copy runs out here]
