EMMETT C. BANKS

WESTFIELD, Iowa --- Emmett C. Banks, 81, of Westfield died Thursday, May 18, 1995, at a Sioux City nursing home after a long illness.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present 7 to 9 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Banks was born Oct. 3, 1913, in Sioux City, the son of Joseph and Florence (Ross) Banks. A longtime Westfield resident, he farmed the family farm near Westfield until retiring in 1986.

Mr. Banks was a member of the Akron Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in the U. S. Army from April 1942 until August 1945.

Survivors include three brothers, Belmer, Wurth and his wife, Lenore and Arden and his wife, Kathryn, all of Westfield, and a sister, Marian Postlewait of Westfield.

He was preceded in death by eight brothers and a sister.

Pallbearers will be nephews.
