LE MARS, Iowa -- Margaret J. Dorr, 73, of Le Mars passed away Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2002, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Friday, with the family present 5 to 8 p.m. and a rosary at 5 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Margaret Joan Dorr was born April 22, 1929, in Le Mars, the daughter of Merlin and Marie (Rozeboom) Scheuller. She attended Clark Elementary School and graduated from Le Mars High School in 1947. She also attended Western Union (Westmar) College in Le Mars. Following her education, she was employed with Sioux Tools in Sioux City.

On Nov. 15, 1948, Margaret and John "Jack" Allen Dorr were united in marriage in Le Mars. The couple made their home in Le Mars. She stayed at home to raise the children. She will be remembered for her cooking and baking as well as her flower gardening. She also had a vast collection of elephant figurines.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Linda and her husband, Dennis Baber of Tonasket, Wash., Jackie Marvin of Greeley, Colo., and Julie and her husband, Blaine Zupp of Le Mars; two sons and their wives, Dennis and Sharon of Le Mars and Steve and Karon of Le Mars; grandchildren, Heather, Daniel and Jill Baber, Kelly Jahn, Tim and Ryan Marvin, Mike and his wife,m Gina, Matt Door, John, Nick and Chris Dorr, Jennifer, Jessica and Jared Zupp, Lezly Samuels and her husband, Jason, and Geno and Ted Griffin; great-grandchildren, Ethan Jahn and Nicole Samuels; a sister, Helen Killeas of Le Mars; a sister-in-law, Margie Aker of Westminster, Calif.; and a brother-in-law, Fred Kaschmitter of White Bear Lake, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack on Jan. 5, 1990; her parents; a sister-in-law, Joyce Dorr Kaschmitter; and brothers-in-law, Perry Aker and Vernon Killeas.
