MINNIE FRERICHS

Minnie Frerichs, 91, of LeMars, died Monday, Feb. 27, 1995, at the Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in LeMars.

Mrs. Frerichs, the former Minnie Satthoff, was born Aug. 24, 1903, in Dunne County, Wisconsin, the daughter of Folkert and Altje (Bockhoff) Satthoff. She moved with her family to a farm near Merrill. She attended country school in Plymouth County and was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in LeMars. She married Claus Frerichs on Jan. 18, 1925, in LeMars. The couple farmed in Plymouth County for many years. He died Jan. 25, 1980.

Mrs. Frerichs was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church where she was active in the quilting and ladies aid. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

Survivors include four sons, Gerald and his wife, Donna, George and his wife, Marlys, all of LeMars, and Leon of Anaheim, Calif.; two daughters, Ardyth and her husband, Bernard Fisher of Helena, Mont., and Carol and her husband, Charlie Rowe, of Lake Park; 25 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Richard; two grandsons, and a son-in-law, Ronald Fick.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, ELCA, with the Rev. Gary Landsness officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today (Wednesday), with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
