FOLKERT FRERICHS

Folkert (Folly) Frerichs, 89, of LeMars, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1993, at Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in LeMars.

Mr. Frerichs was born Feb. 23, 1904, in Plymouth County, the son of Herman and Anna (Kruse) Frerichs. He married Minnie Frerichs on Jan. 27, 1927, in LeMars. The couple lived in Grant Township after their marriage. Mr. Frerichs was a farmer in the Hawarden area most of his life. The couple moved to LeMars in 1961. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church ELCA, LeMars. Mrs. Frerichs died on May 2, 1974.

Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Marlene and Robert Conner of LeMars; two granddaughters, Betty Jo Conner of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Kathy Conner of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Etta Renken of LeMars; nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Wallace; a granddaughter, Laurie; a brother, Herman; and two sisters, Anna and Gertie.

Services are at 2 p.m. today (Monday) at St. John’s Lutheran Church ELCA, LeMars, with Rev. David Kramer officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars. Visitation was Sunday at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home, LeMars.
