Claus B. Frerichs, 81, of LeMars, lifelong county resident, died Friday (Jan. 25, 1980) at Brentwood Nursing Home in LeMars.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in St John’s American Lutheran church. Rev. Tom Lee will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery, under the direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home.
A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Frerichs was born Sept. 2, 1898, in Preston Township to Carl C. and Margaret Harms Frerichs.
He married Minnie Satthoff Feb. 18, 1925, in LeMars. Mr. Frerichs was employed as a Plymouth county maintenance man 30 years. He retired in 1964. He was a member of the St John American Lutheran church.
Survivors are his wife; five sons, Gerald, George and Stanley, all of LeMars, Richard of Kingsley and Leon of Anaheim, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Ardyth) Fischer, of Helena, Mont., and Mrs. Ronald (Carol) Fick of Lake Park; four sisters, Mrs. Otto (Anna) Kroepel of Ireton; Mrs. John G. (Hilda) Schmidt of Hawarden, Emma Frerichs and Minnie Frerichs, both of Akron; 27 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
