Paul C. Fox, 51, of LeMars, died suddenly Saturday, Jan. 4, 1997, at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars.

Paul Clayton Fox was born Dec. 20, 1945, in Sioux City, the son of Jack and Gertrude Fox. His family moved to LeMars when he was 3 years old. He grew up in LeMars and graduated from LeMars Community High School in 1964. Following graduation, he enlisted with the Iowa National Guard while he was employed at the Chevrolet garage. On Nov. 25, 1967, he married Evelyn Falk at Twin Brooks, S.D.,

On their first anniversary, Paul was drafted into the Vietnam Conflict with the United States Army 101st Airborne Division. After his honorable discharge, he went to work for the Central Telephone Co. (now Frontier Communications), on Feb. 9, 1970, in LeMars, where he worked until his death. Mrs. Fox died Feb. 17, 1992.

He enjoyed playing softball and baseball, hunting, fishing and watching sports on television, along with being a wonderful family man.

Survivors include two sons, Eric and Alex of LeMars; his father and stepmother, Jack and Vivian Fox of LeMars; a brother, Ken Fox of Orland Park, Ill,; five brothers-in-law, Warren, Charles, Kenneth, Doug and Wesley Falk; two sisters-in-law, Helene Reiners and Marcene DeBoer; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his mother, Gertrude Fox.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary United Methodist Church in LeMars with the Rev. Kenneth Reiners officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. to greet friends at the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.
