WILMINA H. ENGBERS
Wilmina H. Engbers, 83, of Green Valley, Ariz., and formerly of LeMars, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 1997, at her home in Green Valley.
Wilmina H. Guerink was born Dec. 25, 1913, in Orange City, the daughter of William and Henrietta (Beltman) Guerink. She was raised in Orange City and attended school there. On June 19, 1934, she married Albert Engbers in Orange City.
The coupled moved to LeMars in 1935 when her husband purchased the LeMars Hatchery. She retired in 1986. Mr. Engbers died Feb. 18, 1996. In May of 1997 she moved to Green Valley, Ariz.
She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Calvin Christian Reformed Church in LeMars.
Survivors include two daughters, Glenda Larson of Tucson, Ariz., and Verna and her husband, Darrell Bottjen, of Olathe, Kan.; a sister, Alice Wiersma of Orange City; three grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, three children in infancy, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Calvin Christian Reformed Church in LeMars with the Rev. Wick Hubers officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars. Visitation will be after noon Saturday until service time at the church.
The Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of LeMars is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Bottjen, Terry Korver, Troy Kover, Mary Korver, Dale Shipley and Steve VerMulm.
