EARL E. SOUTHWICK
Earl E. Southwick, 61, native and lifelong resident of Kingsley, died Friday at a Sioux City hospital after a sickness of several months.
He was born in Kingsley November 7, 1895. A veteran of World War I, he had been a landscape gardener and had operated a road grader.
Survivors include the widow, Elsie; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy McCann of Ames, and Mrs. Hazel James of Los Angeles; three sons, Harlan of Omaha, Don of Ord, Neb., and Verl of Chamberlin, S.D.; a brother, Raymond of Northampton, N.H.; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Southwick of Sac City, and Mrs. Ila Bruning of Kingsley; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday (today) at the Kingsley Congregational church with Rev. Paul P. Jackson of Peterson, Iowa, officiating. Burial will be in Kingsley cemetery under the direction of the Dickisen funeral home. Military rites will be conducted at the graveside.
