MYRTLE HATCH
Myrtle E. (DeWitt) Hatch, 84, died Friday (Dec. 23, 1978) in the Valley View Nursing Home, Correctionville, after a lengthy illness.
She had lived in Correctionville the past three years. Prior to that she lived for 45 years in Washta.
Myrtle Bashaw was born March 12, 1894, Montgomery county. She married John DeWitt on Oct. 12, 1917. He died in 1940. She married Henry Hatch in 1944. He died in 1958.
She was a member of the Washta United Methodist Church, the Rebekah lodge at Washta and the Washta service star.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Earl (Betty) Fullerton, Correctionville; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Orville Bashaw, Modesto, Calif., and sisters, Mrs. Leah Dockweiler, Sioux City; Mrs. Roy (Vera) Rehm, Richland, Wash., and Mrs. Albert (Florence) Porsch, Hinton, Iowa.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and four sisters.
Services were 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Washta United Methodist Church, with Rev. Leonard Rowse officiating. Burial was in the Moville cemetery. There was a family prayer service at 1:15 at the church.
The Boothby funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
