ORANGE CITY, Iowa -- Georgia Edwards, 41, of Orange City died Sunday, April 25, 2004, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital following a brief illness of cancer.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Alton Presbyterian Church in Alton, Iowa. Interment will be at Nassau Township Cemetery near Alton with the Rev. Ronald Brink officiating. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City.
Georgia Lee was born Dec. 1, 1962, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of William M. and Mae I. (Munn) Brazie. She was raised in Alton, where she graduated from Floyd Valley High School in 1981. In 1983, she graduated from Le Mars Beauty College.
On March 6, 1985, she married Richard Charles Edwards in Sutherland, Iowa. They made their home in Alton and Orange City.
For 20 years, Georgia was employed at the OK Cafe in Alton. She also worked at the Babcock Locker Plant in Alton and the Woudstra Meat Market in Orange City.
She was an active member of Alton Presbyterian Church, where she participated in Presbyterian Women. She also sang in the choir and was a superintendent and teacher in Sunday school.
She loved taking care of her children and family. In addition, she enjoyed spending time with friends and watching soap operas.
Survivors include her husband of 19 years, Rick; a son, Taylor; and two daughters, Brittany and Amanda, all at home; her father and his wife, Bill and Barbara Brazie of Wakefield, Neb.; a grandmother, Dorothy Brazie of Barrington, Mass.; three brothers, Robert Brazie and his wife Jeanette of Pleasantville, Iowa, William Brazie Jr. of Sioux City and Bruce Brazie and his wife Michele of Minot, N.D.; a sister and her husband, Dorothy and Daniel Warnock of Greensboro, N.C.; her husband's parents, Richard and Jean Edwards of Paullina, Iowa; her husband's sister, Barbara Brady of Iowa Falls, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
