HINTON, Iowa -- Tyler S. Eddy, 18, of Hinton died Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, in Sioux City.

Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Timothy Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Sibley Cemetery, Sibley, Iowa. Visitation with the family present will be 3 to 7 p.m. today, and a parish vigil service at 4 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City.

Tyler was born Sept. 6, 1984 in Sibley, Iowa, to Steven and Gloria (Van Engen) Eddy. He attended Hinton Schools, graduating from Hinton High School in 2003. He was involved in the school choir, band and show choir. He was also a member of the wrestling, football and cross country teams. He was employed at Williams Pipeline during the summer months.

Tyler is survived by his parents, Steve and Gloria Van Engen; a brother, Tanner, and two sisters, Kathleen and Kandace, all at home; his grandmothers, Helen Van Engen and Ardyce Ann Eddy, both of Sibley; an aunt, Theola Van Wettering and her husband, Bill, of Forest City, Iowa; six uncles, Jim Van Engen and his wife, Pauline, of Sibley, Tim Van Engen and his wife, Noel, of Milford, Iowa, Tom Eddy and his wife, Jane, of LaCrosse, Wis., Bill Eddy and his wife, Jolene, of Aurora, Colo., Doug Eddy and his wife, Jolene, and Patrick Eddy and his wife, Julie, all of Sibley; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Lesley; and grandfathers, George Van Engen and Ralph Eddy.

Pallbearers will be Scott Guthmiller, Joel Bertrand, Kyle Foss, Tyler Erickson, Arthur Eddy and Tony Eddy.
