Nicolas R. Eisma, 18, of LeMars died Monday, Nov. 17, 1997, at his residence.

Nicolas Ryan Eisma was born June 29, 1979, in LeMars, the son of Rodney and Connie (Paskert) Eisma. He attended Kluckhohn Elementary School and was a senior at LeMars Community High School.

He was a baptized member of the Calvin Christian Reformed Church in LeMars, a member of the National Honor society, participated in cross country, and was an avid basketball player.

He enjoyed motorcycling and playing basketball and golf. This past summer he worked for Fedders Marine and RV and had also worked for Godfather’s Pizza for several years.

Survivors include his parents, Rodney and Connie Eisma, of LeMars; two sisters, Gretchen Eisma of Iowa City and Brandy Eisma at home; maternal grandmother, Helen Paskert of LeMars; aunts and uncles, LaVonne and Tom Gaul of LeMars and Stanley and Shirley Eisma of Maurice.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Mathew Paskert; paternal grandparents, Burton and Gertrude Eisma; and an uncle, Donald Paskert.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Carey Gymnasium, LeMars Community High School, with the Rev. Wick Hubers officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today (Wednesday) at the Calvin Reformed Church in LeMars, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the church. The Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home of LeMars is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Cory Becker, Adam Christians, Quinn Collins, Justin Dalton, Craig Glenn, Neil Klemme, Josh Larsen, Mike Murphy, Ryan Renken, and Scott Thompson.
