FLORENCE BUSHEY
Mrs. Florence Inez Bushey, 75, mother of Mrs. Frances Fairchild, LeMars, died Sunday (November 21, 1976) at Floyd Valley Hospital after an illness of 3 1/2 years. She had lived in LeMars for four years.
Her family said her death was a blessing after 3 1/2 years of suffering from multiple myaloma.
Florence Lawson Bushey, daughter of William and Carrie Grewell Lawson, was born April 11, 1901, at Marathon in Buena Vista County. She lived at Marathon and Rossie in Iowa as a young woman moving to the Cornell area in 1964 and later to LeMars.
On July 29, 1918, she was united in marriage to John L. Bushey, who preceded her in death in 1963. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Sioux Rapids for many years and for the last few years she has been a member of the first United Methodist Church in LeMars.
A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mauer funeral home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in LeMars, with Dr. Everett H. Staats officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, LeMars.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. John (Liona) Ebert, Council Bluffs, Mrs. Frances (widow of Don) Fairchild, LeMars, and Mrs. Ray (Donna Jean) Pullen, Marshalltown.
Also survived by four grandchildren; Laurel Ebert Moxham, Lincoln, Neb.; James Ebert, Missouri Valley; Larry Behrens, LeMars; and Kip Fairchild, stationed in Germany in the armed forces. There are six great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are five sisters, Stella Olson, Spencer; Edna Otto, Estherville; Cora Costello and Viola Wasteney, both of DesMoines; and Louise Watts, Storm Lake and a brother John Lawson, Spencer.
Besides her husband she was also preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. Esther Walker, Des Moines and a brother, Loren Lawson, Greenville.
