NORMAN ASHMORE, 50, STRICKEN AT BALL GAME, DIES LATER AT HOSPITAL
Norman Wayne Ashmore, 50, LeMars, died unexpectedly at Floyd Valley Hospital Thursday evening. He earlier had attended a minor league baseball game and became ill at the ballpark.
Mr. Ashmore, who lived in LeMars last eight years, was a transport operator, and was retired due to health disability. He had lived in Correctionville, Sioux City and LeMars.
He was born November 20, 1917, at Correctionville and was married to Dorothy Louise Blaue April 16, 1948, at Sioux Falls. He was the son of the late Earl and Ella Willoughby Ashmore.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Mauer funeral Chapel. Reverend Milo Morris will officiate and burial will be in Resthaven Memory Gardens, under direction of the Mauer funeral home.
Survivors are his wife, Dorothy; four sons, Gary, Huntsville, Alabama; Earl of Sioux City; and Donald and Joe, both at home; two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Marionette) Ruble and Mrs. Ray (Janice) Thompson, both of Aurora, Illinois; a sister, Mrs. George (Edna) Sellman, Sioux City; two brothers, Edwin, Correctionville, and Max, Merrill; and a half brother, Richard Morgan, Corpus Christi, Texas.
