Alfred W. Detloff, 72, of LeMars died Saturday, September 18, 1992, at Marion Health Center, Sioux City.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's American Lutheran Church, LeMars, with Reverend David Kramer officiating. Burial will be at Rest Haven Memory Gardens, LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today (Monday). A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Gary Landsness officiating at the Mauer-Johnson funeral home in LeMars.

Mr. Detloff was born on September 16, 1920, in LeMars, son of Edward and Della (Weber) Detloff. He married Edna (Jean) Detloff on November 2, 1957, at Storm Lake. He was an area dairy farmer and drove a milk truck for many years.

He was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church, LeMars, and of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 1381, LeMars.

Survivors include his wife, Edna; eleven children and their spouses, Mrs. Rick (Brenda) Kray of LeMars, Mrs. Mike (Barbara) Newhouse of South Sioux City, Randy Detloff and wife Paulette of LeMars, Ron Detloff and wife Karen of LeMars, Mrs. Tom (Vicki) Fischer of LeMars, Mrs. Tom (Pat) Lammers of Dyersville, Mrs. Doug (Vicki) Livermore of Sioux City, Richard Degner and wife Nancy of Ankeny, Neal Degner and wife Colleen of St. Charles, Mo., Doug Degner and wife Jane of Omaha, and Dan Degner and wife Sharon of Folsom, Calif; his twin brother, Edwin Detloff, and his wife, Fern, of LeMars; his sister, Mryne Bogh, of LeMars; 30 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Detloff; a brother, Robert Detloff, and an infant sister.
