ELMER DE RAAD

Elmer De Raad, 77, of LeMars died Sunday (July 1, 1984) at Marion Health Center, Sioux City.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in LeMars. Rev. H. H. Schauland will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens.

Family visitation will be from seven to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Mauer-Johnson funeral home.

Mr. De Raad was born December 5, 1906, in Lakota, N.D. to John and Minnie Raak DeRaad, and came to Sioux City and Plymouth County at age 6.

He farmed and also was in the corn sheller business for many years and worked for Seney Grain Co.

He married Carmen Lehrman September 6, 1932, at Ireton.

Survivors are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Shirley) Hettwer of LeMars and Mrs. Gerry Steele of Minneapolis; a brother, Vernon of LeMars; two sisters, Mrs. Thomas (Myrtle) Madden of Kingsley and Mrs. Viola Fulton of LeMars; four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.

He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Alfred, Marion, and Arthur.
