ROY DE BOER

Roy De Boer, 87, of LeMars, died Thursday (February 16, 1984) at Brentwood Care Center, LeMars, after a short illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m., Saturday in Calvin Christian Reformed Church. Rev. Merle Den Bleyker will officiate. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens.

There will be a prayer service at 7 p.m. Friday at the Mauer-Johnson funeral home.

He was a member of Calvin Christian Reformed Church.

Mr. DeBoer was born December 6, 1896, in Sioux City to Tjeerd and Frohlke VanderWeg DeBoer. He married Ruth Borgman, March 5, 1920, in Sioux Center. They farmed in the Sioux Center area 21 years, then west of Craig until 1962 when they retired and moved to LeMars. Mrs. DeBoer died in 1968.

Survivors are three sons, Delmer, Gerrold and Elroy, all of LeMars; one daughter, Mrs. Delmer (Sylvia) Krommendyke of Worthington, Minn.; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Mieras and Mrs. Margaret Bartels, both of Sioux Center; 20 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Vera, and a son, Marvin; three brothers and two sisters.
