LE MARS, Iowa -- Dean Ray Lubben, 49, of Johnstown, Colo., formerly of Le Mars, died Thursday, May 12, 2005, at his residence.
Memorial services were held May 16 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Greeley, Colo. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Northern Colorado Crematory in Greeley, Colo.
Dean was born April 11, 1956, in Le Mars to Raymond and Dorothy (Willer) Lubben. He grew up in Brunsville, Iowa, and graduated from Le Mars Community High School. He attended and graduated from Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City with a degree in electronics and computer programming.
He married Barbara Rozell on Sept. 4, 1982, in Le Mars. While living in Sioux Falls, S.D., they adopted their beloved daughter, Alisha Jeannine, who is now 14. They moved to Colorado in 1997, where he was employed with Swift and Company in Greeley as a systems analyst.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, computers, playing cards and sports. He was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church in rural Le Mars and a member of the Luther League. Currently, he was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Greeley.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Lubben; a daughter, Alisha Lubben of Johnstown, Colo.; his parents, Raymond and Dorothy Lubben of Brunsville, Iowa; a brother and his wife, Darwin and Judy Lubben of rural Le Mars; five nieces and nephews; a great-niece; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
