Visitation will resume one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.

Clayton Joseph Bohlke was born Dec. 21, 1934, the son of Edward and Cecelia (Lanners) Bohlke, on the family farm near Le Mars. He attended St. Joseph's Catholic School in Le Mars. Following his education, he assisted his family with the farming. As a young man, he was active in 4-H and would later became a leader when his children became involved.

On Nov. 18, 1957, he and Delores Wolf were united in marriage at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen, Iowa. The couple made their home in Plymouth County, where he continued his life-long love of farming and raising quarter horses.

He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Neptune, Iowa, and served the church through various offices. He enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting and snowmobiling. The couple were members of a euchre card club and in earlier years, a bowling team. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and making toys for them in his machine shop. One of his goals was to be able to ride a horse again and he was very proud when he achieved this mission one month ago.

Clayton will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Delores of rural Kingsley; a son and his wife, Gary and Shelly of Kingsley; a daughter and her husband, Lori and Rich Steffen of Kingsley; a son and his wife, Tony and Lori of Le Mars; a son, Lonnie of Kingsley; nine grandchildren, Justin, Brandon, Jennifer, Bradi, Tyler and Jeremy Bohlke, Melissa, Richie and Matthew Steffen; two brothers, Floyd "Bud" and his wife, Bonnie, of Sioux City and Ray of Le Mars; four sisters, Darlene Thill of Sioux Falls, S.D., Shirley Traufler of Le Mars, Marilyn and her husband, Don Hoffman, of Le Mars and Lois and her husband, LaMont Hageman, of Le Mars; and a brother-in-law, Arnold Welter of Carroll, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Rosie Welter; and two brothers-in-law, Don Thill and Bill Traufler.
